Get Sketchy Challenge #75

I was on a scrapping high last night so I got a good head start on this sketch! :)  Here is my entry for Get Sketchy Challenge #75

Not exactly the card I had in mind, but I suppose it turned out okay. I should have made the card itself smaller, but of course, I didn't think of that until I had everything on it! Really like the colors though! I'll probably use them again! :)

Viva La Verve! Week 4

Lol! Okay, I was on a reeeeeeaaaalllly big roll last night!! I was making cards for three hours straight! :)

Here's my entry for Vive La Verve! Week 4

This is definitely not one of my favorite cards :/ I handstitched the seam with needle and thread. I would NOT recommend this method! lol Very time consuming and a pain in the neck! I traced over the stitched with gold glitter glue.

Viva La Verve! Week 3

Check out Verve Challenges on Splitcoaststampers forum!

Here's my card for Week 3 (I skipped week 2 shhhhh!)

The flower is called a folded fan flower and is really easy to make. The background flowers were stamped on plain gray cardstock. You might not be able to see from the photo but one flower in each row is stamped silver instead of black. I made the little envelope out of a square of yellow cardstock. This one was probably folded five or six times before I was happy with it. :)

Viva La Verve! Week 1

I recently joined Splitcoaststampers  forum and there are sooooo many challenges on there!! This month I'm joining in with the Verve Stamps challenge, Viva La Verve! Really fun sketches. :)

Here's my card for Week 1 sketch:

I'm really liking the color combination of black, white, and a bright color. The two stamps are from Technique Tuesday. (another challenger on Splitcoaststampers, which I totally didn't even know! lol) The large stamp was stamped in black and colored in with a yellow colored pencil, and the two little flowers were stamped by coloring the stamp with a marker. They didn't really turn out how I wanted them to but I just have to keep working on it. :)

CardPatterns Sketch #102

I was on a roll this week!! Five cards in two days!! Ahhhhhh, so this is what it feels like to achieve something. Lol. Here is my entry for CardPatterns Sketch #102:

Kinda plain, but I like the simplicity. I think it makes the color pop a little more, and I needed some popping color to remind me that SPRING is just around the corner!

The green patterned paper is suede paper that I picked up at a scrapbook convention. The background paper is just a plain piece of tan cardstock on which I stamped the love words in gold. The ribbon is from Rusty Pickle's Princess Bride set, and I can't remember where the flower is from. :) I'll try to remember to look it up and update my post.

Please post your comments and advice below. They are both appreciated. Thanks for viewing!

Get Sketchy Challenge #74

Here is my entry for Get Sketchy Challenge # 74:

Still in the lovey-dovey mood here! :) The red and white are just cardstock, the patterned paper is from my miscellaneous pile (I think I bought it at a scrapbooking convention), and the ribbon is from Rusty Pickle's Princess Bride pack. The hearts were punched with a mini puncher. The word Amore was stamped onto the ribbon with red ink. I love this look!! The ribbing of the ribbon give the image a little texture. Very vintage looking!

Valentines

So awhile back, I was surfing through some blogs, when I came across some little cards on a woman's blog. They were more like bookmarkers with dimensions of 2x5 (maybe?) just big enough for a simple design and one or two embellishes. (I really wish I could remember the site, cause I would totally give her a shoutout) I fell in love with the idea and designed some Valentine's Day themed ones. Here are my little cards:
The one on the left is slightly bigger than the other two, at 3x5 instead of 2x5.

The paper is just plain white and red cardstock. I punched out the hearts with a mini puncher that I've had for eons. The letters were stamped on with white ink. I could not get those letters to ink and stamp equally for anything!! One letter was too light, another was too bright, one didn't stamp fully, another smooshed itself out! I really need to work on my stamping! lol
I love this one! The pink paper on the bottom is cardstock and the patterned paper's design is black felt. I don't remember the stack I got it from, but I've had it for a long time. The love word is a felt rubon (again from who knows where).

I'm very happy with how this turned out! To make the silhouette, I placed a mask on the card and rubbed a cotton ball inked in black all over the mask and card. Peel away the mask, add a few gems, and voila! The love word was stamped onto pink paper and then cut out with an Exacto pen.
